Flower Girls
A few weeks ago (back in August) Lucy and Greer were flower girls in Mike’s cousin’s wedding. It was their first time flower girl-ing and boy did they nail it. More importantly, they fully enjoyed every single second of it! I rocked proud mama eyes the whole day.
The bride was super chill (complete opposite of a bride-zilla!), setting such a cool, sweet vibe to the whole weekend. From when she asked the girls to be a part of the wedding she asked me to pick their outfits. So, naturally, I did what I love to do best. I sourced the best looks to tie in with the bride’s vision. It was so neat to style them, especially since I know my girls so well and what styles would best flow with their personalities. I made sure their outfits fit the scene - a semi-casual wedding, set in Vermont in the green month of August taking us from day into night. I also took into account that the wedding was at the end of a season so it had to be a silhouette that I would be able to get away purchasing a size up for them each to wear again next spring/summer. (Im thinking Easter outfits for 2020!)
I went simple, I went classic. The Petite Lucette Venice dress in white (with subtle gold detailing) was the perfect frock. We sold the top (Napoli Top) of this silhouette at the Pop Up Shop in March so I knew it well and knew it would carry out the look we were trying to accomplish.
I paired the Venice dress with the Project 6 NY Kids Butterfly Wreath. Project 6 NY Kids was kind enough to gift them to Lucy and Greer for their first flower girl experience! So, so sweet. Can’t thank them enough! The colors in the wreath tied in the bridesmaids’ blush colored dresses so nicely. The butterflies have minimal gold detail on them like the Venice dress really completing the look.
The best part about their shoes was that they wore what they had! In the beginning of the summer with the wedding in mind I made sure to purchase a timeless style and color sandal. I went with the Surfer Saltwater Sandal in Navy Blue. This shoe allows plenty of comfort and play while keeping the look subtle. Just what we needed!
The girls necklaces were a gift from the bride & groom. They love them so much, Lucy and Greer wear them almost everyday now! They are rose gold which also nodded a nice little compliment to the gold touches in Lucy and Greer’s dress and wreath. The bride nailed it and gave each of the girls their favorite color flower pendant (Lucy blue, Greer pink). What a great gift idea!
