Poppy + Hen was created by Allie and inspired by her daughter, timeless fashion, vintage patterns, the value of childhood happiness, the value of innocence, a love for the outdoors and generations of sewers in her family (she grew up with her mom sewing her clothing - from debutante dresses to day-wear...so cool). Made in the US with 50s/60s patterns, the collection pieces are made to last a lifetime both physically and aesthetically. Say no more.

Poppy + Hen's first collection (a few bits featured above) was designed to reflect "children wearing summer". Think vacation, happy, carefree, fruit, travel, family, outdoors, summer, happiness. It is obvious that Allie has a true love for what she creates. As she explained to us, she wants this collection to be worn by all happy little girls however they please - fancy or free, with high-tops or Mary Janes - and feeling happy while wearing them. Even though these prints scream summer months, the dresses are extremely versatile - they can be carried into the fall/winter months with knee highs and tights or over leggings. The prints are exceptional and conversation starters. We can't really choose which we like best, but the chickens definitely have a special place in our Bitsy heart.
