Packing For | With Kids
The four of us just got back from Chicago - a quick, jam-packed, fun trip that left me realizing what our travel needs are as a family. Life has definitely gotten easier now that Lucy is almost 8 and Greer is almost 5. However, I’ve learned there are still ways to stay organized and feel good about packing - especially when you are doing it for your little ones. I find the trickiest part of travel to be when you first pull up at the airport and you haven’t checked your bags yet. You still have a lot to hold and are trying to herd your kiddos into the airport safely, out of the complete chaos. Our girls are both at the stage that they want to help, so I realized this past weekend that it is time to get them both their own rolling suitcases. We used our Away Suitcase for the first time as one of our bags and really loved it. This is definitely the bag for us all. Not only will the bag grow with each of us, it is super easy to pack and use once you are jetting through the airport (especially if you are carrying on).
In our Bitsy shopping travels we also found other rolling suitcase options for kids and love these as well…
These 2 color-ways are our favorite, but there are a ton of options! We also love the inside for organization, especially while you living out of a hotel, Airbnb, etc…
To keep us even more organized, I purchased these packing cubes (super inexpensive) and they do the job perfectly. We used to have our girls share a suitcase, so without these packing cubes our bag would have exploded while we were away! I picked a color for each of us so it is easy to differentiate while we are accessing our bags | clothing on vacation.
One more bit to share - the “piece de resistance” -which makes things more exciting (and in true Bitsy fashion)…
We thought it would be fun to gift the girls a few of these “flair” pieces so they can stick them on their own suitcases. You know, really make them their own and allow them to stand out when we need to grab them off of the baggage claim belt upon arrivals….
How fun it will be for them to decorate their own suitcases, make them their own and really rock them while rolling through their traveling with the rents!! These also make a great gift - the whole kit and kaboodle could be a Holiday gift from the grandparents! The parents love it just as much as the kids!
Stick here to experience Bitsy’s travels. We have started some fun planning and can’t wait to share as our adventures unfold!
