Lemonade! 25 Cents!
We know this is a little off-season, but what better way to celebrate Bitsy's 200th (!) post than to share with you a glance at our Lemonade Stand (from August!)?! We had a blast planning, creating + selling yummy lemonade (recipe below)! And we loved transforming the "Bitsy Retail Shop" we built for the girls last Christmas into a lemonade stand... It started with Lucy + Greer creating their very own "Lemonade" sign to temporary replace the "Bitsy" sign...
Then, of course, we had to create a sign with our pricing:
Then, it was show-time!:
It was such a blast and we can't wait to do it again next summer!
HOMEMADE LEMONADE RECIPE
1 cup sugar
2/3 cup boiled water
6 large lemons
3 ¾ cups chilled still or sparkling water (we used still)
Mix the sugar and hot water in a heatproof bowl. Stir to dissolve sugar, then set aside to cool. Roll lemons to release the juice.
Squeeze the lemons. You need about 1 cup of lemon juice.
Pour the juice into a pitcher and stir in the sugar syrup. Finally, add the chilled water and mix.
Makes 5 cups.
And, yes, we kegged ours. It was a great way to keep the lemonade fresh and cold. It was also easier + more fun for Lucy to pour!
ENJOY!
