gimme gimme gimme GIVEAWAY – bitsy’s brainfood!

Bitsy's Brainfood Snacks for Kids

What do you get when Bitsy meets Bitsy’s?! Delicious wonderful-ness!

Have a listen! There is another “Bitsy” on the scene and this time you get to EAT it!

Bitsy first came across Bitsy’s Brainfood at The Shop Up last year in Brooklyn, NY. Bitsy’s Brainfood (I know, can you believe it?! We’re still giggling!) originated with two moms looking for healthy, fun foods for their minis. So, with the premise of helping kids get excited about choosing to eat healthy foods they set out to create snacks that kids would get pumped to eat. Bitsy’s Brainfood is a new-ish food company dedicated to the child-size consumer (although, the adults around here have been loving them as well, just saying). Bitsy’s first product roll out was their yummy alphabet “Smart Cookies” ranging in 3 different flavors swirls such as Orange Chocolate Beet (our favorite!) and Sweet Potato Oatmeal Raisin. They have since expanded their product offerings with a new category of Organic Fruit + Veggie Cereals that come in number shapes, squares and flowers.

Here’s the really exciting part – just this week Bitsy’s Brainfood launched their new “Smart Crackers”! We promise you will not be able to put these cracker boxes down! Bitsy was able to try them before they hit the shelves and they blew our minds. Their Smart Cookies come in 3 different varieties: Cheddar Chia Veggie, Maple Carrot Crisp + Sweet Potato Cinna-Graham. Our jam is opening all 3 boxes and hitting up each flavor in one snack session. The tangram puzzle shapes allow your kids to create hundreds of fun designs as they snack. What fun! We learned from the beginning that the packaging alone will grab your little buggers’ attention – imaginative play and creativity awaits their breakfast and snack tables! Lucy had a blast discovering, eating, playing, snacking, creating and snacking some more as you can see from our little photo shoot below.

All of Bitsy’s Brainfood is organic, baked in peanut-free and tree nut-free facilities, non-gmo, and loaded with vitamins and nutrients any parent would want their little ones consuming on a daily basis. Some are gluten-free as well!

Now for the really, really exciting part! Bitsy has teamed up with Bitsy’s Brainfood to showcase Bitsy’s Brainfood’s new “Smart Crackers” and to offer you a scrumptious GIVEAWAY! Bitsy’s Brainfood is generously offering one lucky winner a Bitsy’s Brainfood prize pack loaded with all of their delicious treats. Cookies, cereal + crackers to snack on…yummy!!

As we mentioned above, Bitsy Style tried this Brainfood out on our toughest customer. Lucy had a blast in her pretzel skirt trying new foods, experimenting, playing + creating. Normally she is asking when the photo shoot will be over. This time, she was upset when we had to wrap it up!

Have a taste for yourself…

We couldn’t help but stick with the “food for thought” theme and dolled Lucy up in the Huxbaby Pretzel Skirt and a GoldnHearts (Etsy Shop) Organic (yup) Crop Top. Her headband/bow is Free Babes. The party accessories (minus the striped paper containers) are all from Meri Meri’s new Liberty Paper Goods Collection!

strawberry fields forever

Bitsy decided to check off one of our Family Bucket List picks (to see more, head here) so we took our style to the strawberry fields. What a way to celebrate the official start to summer! Lucy rocked this delicious headband…

meet me at the ferris wheel

This is a favorite time of year for Bitsy. We WELCOME SUMMER with a very happy heart!! Everyone is outside and carnivals are popping up all around us. The feeling is care-free + fun!

In anticipation for the start of summer, we found this funky little frock and thought it was the perfect introduction to our favorite time of year! This organic, eco-friendly girl’s ferris wheel dress from SewnNatural on Etsy features the beautiful photography of Raceytay (also on Etsy – Raceytay.Etsy.com). SewnNatural turned Raceytay’s photograph into this colorful and adorable pinafore. We really can’t take our eyes off of it!

bitsy favorite for the itsy…NOCH MINI!

Bitsy is pumped to introduce you to a brand that enthusiastically follows an organic way of life. Meet Noch Mini. The name NOCH signifies “the basic and majority elements of everything living & organic – N(nitrogen), O (oxygen), C (carbon), H (hydrogen)”. Bitsy has shared organic brands with you in the past – we are definitely passionate about what materials we put on our sweet babies’ + childrens’ skin. Noch Mini uses only certified organic materials and low-impact dyes. We applaud and thank them for their thoughtfulness!

It can be difficult to find adorable options that are also 100% healthy for our pipsqueaks’ little bods. Well, not only does Noch stand by its organic promise, but the designer, Jina Jang, does not skimp on style + trend when creating her collections. Without further adieu, let us introduce you to NOCH MINI…

organic chemistry

Organic. Here’s a word that’s been popping up a lot lately – And rightfully so. Not only is organic something we should be tuning into when choosing what we put into our bodies, but we should also be paying attention to what we put on our bodies. Especially our children’s bodies.

 Here’s the low-down…

Just like in some of the foods we purchase, cotton is often treated with harmful chemicals that cannot always be washed away. Therefore, our children’s skin, at its most sensitive state, is absorbing these harmful chemicals. FYI, even some organic choices are sometimes not 100% guaranteed chemical-free. This does not mean that all non-organic cotton is harmful to our bodies.  However, since I do believe our society needs to cut out more chemicals to keep up with our health I felt compelled to share. There are also some children that can ONLY wear organic clothing due to skin conditions such as Epidermolysis Bullosa Simplex. In my Bitsy travels I’ve landed on some really great “organic” children’s clothing brands and below give you a small sampling of what they have to offer. (Not too bad, huh?!) When you have a chance to pop over to any of these adorable websites you can gain a greater understanding as to why this organic clothing movement is important. You will also have an opportunity to learn more about the fine print. Since I do not consider myself an expert on this topic, I thought I would graze the surface in order to introduce you to these great webshops + brands. *Note that not each of these web shops carry organic clothing exclusively…in this case, take a look out for their “organic” section.
