Children's playdates

What happens when 2 creative blogging mamas get their itty bitties together for a play date?! AWESOME-NESS!

We were recently visiting Boston and had the opportunity to hook up with Surahbi of Third Eye Chic and her two sweet-cheeked daughters. Bitsy is all about finding creativity and after having met Surahbi through Bitsy it made perfect sense to get our little ones together for a city playdate! Surahbi is a talented photographer that started blogging about her fashion and her children’s fashion for similar reasons to me. We share a lot of similarities yet feed off of our differences.

If you ever find yourself in Boston (or live there!), definitely reach out to Surahbi of Third Eye Chic Studio to get some memories photographed. She is amazing! And if you want to get acquainted with her aesthetic and talent, head to her BLOG!

It was really neat to see how all 4 of our munchkins interacted with their own little style. They each own their aesthetics so completely. 2 creative mamas + 4 creative kiddos = total inspiration. After leaving Frieda Garcia Park in the South End of Boston we walked away with some great photos, new friendships and a ton of inspiration. One of the things I’ve enjoyed most about Bitsy are the connections I’ve made with other passionate folks. It fuels me, it fuels the inspiration behind Bitsy. Getting myself and my aesthetic out there has led me down such a cool path. I can’t wait for more!!

Come along on our Boston playdate below…We hope you get excited, inspired, creative…

We are WILD about FREE BABES HANDMADE and have been VERY excited to share this fun GIVEAWAY! Bitsy and Free Babes (bows) are collaborating to bring you some fun adventures and an exciting prize to one lucky winner….

Back in early spring we were very inspired by Free Babes’ “Candy Kirby” Sailor + Pigtail bows. We’ve been doing quite a bit of traveling, so decided to share our girls wearing these bows throughout their little adventures as we created big travel adventures for our family.  We hope you like our tale below. As you will see, the bows made their way to many fun places – from all dressed up to down-and-dirty. After all, isn’t it all about accessorizing?!

Welcome to “Bitsy Travels”! Enjoy the journey(s)…

The girls on Easter Sunday!

Of course Ireland is known for its beautiful landscapes, so we took plenty of time exploring the great outdoors while we were there!

We just love ourselves a good city and Dublin does not disappoint! From “meeting” Molly Malone to smelling the flowers on the famous Grafton Street, we got a great view of the city on the River Liffey! (A few of these shots are in the adorable Ennis).

We enjoyed our first official cup of tea, a yummy “Smarties” ice cream pop + some Mars Bars. And, for good measure, we stopped in to Laduree in Dublin (we needed to make sure the french macaroons were just as good in Ireland as in NYC!)!

We felt like Kings + Queens (+ knights!) at a few castles…oh what fun we had touring their old digs!

This is a favorite. Lucy is looking at a horse next to a deserted mini castle across the street – if you look close enough you can see it.

Enjoying an ice cream cone and some pool time in Florida!

Here Lucy is dancing away in the streets of NYC after enjoying a scrumdiddlyumptious doughnut from Dough Doughnuts New York

It really was all about our journeys and not our destinations. Thank you Free Babes for adding so much color to these little minds as they discover this fun world for the first time! We walked the streets of Manhattan, fed chickens in Ireland, dipped our toes in the ocean on the East Coast of Florida and celebrated Easter. All the while, Free Babes added a little pizzazz and sweetness to our memories.

And just in case you thought Free Babes bows are only for little girls…

gimme gimme gimme GIVEAWAY – bitsy’s brainfood!

Bitsy's Brainfood Snacks for Kids

What do you get when Bitsy meets Bitsy’s?! Delicious wonderful-ness!

Have a listen! There is another “Bitsy” on the scene and this time you get to EAT it!

Bitsy first came across Bitsy’s Brainfood at The Shop Up last year in Brooklyn, NY. Bitsy’s Brainfood (I know, can you believe it?! We’re still giggling!) originated with two moms looking for healthy, fun foods for their minis. So, with the premise of helping kids get excited about choosing to eat healthy foods they set out to create snacks that kids would get pumped to eat. Bitsy’s Brainfood is a new-ish food company dedicated to the child-size consumer (although, the adults around here have been loving them as well, just saying). Bitsy’s first product roll out was their yummy alphabet “Smart Cookies” ranging in 3 different flavors swirls such as Orange Chocolate Beet (our favorite!) and Sweet Potato Oatmeal Raisin. They have since expanded their product offerings with a new category of Organic Fruit + Veggie Cereals that come in number shapes, squares and flowers.

Here’s the really exciting part – just this week Bitsy’s Brainfood launched their new “Smart Crackers”! We promise you will not be able to put these cracker boxes down! Bitsy was able to try them before they hit the shelves and they blew our minds. Their Smart Cookies come in 3 different varieties: Cheddar Chia Veggie, Maple Carrot Crisp + Sweet Potato Cinna-Graham. Our jam is opening all 3 boxes and hitting up each flavor in one snack session. The tangram puzzle shapes allow your kids to create hundreds of fun designs as they snack. What fun! We learned from the beginning that the packaging alone will grab your little buggers’ attention – imaginative play and creativity awaits their breakfast and snack tables! Lucy had a blast discovering, eating, playing, snacking, creating and snacking some more as you can see from our little photo shoot below.

All of Bitsy’s Brainfood is organic, baked in peanut-free and tree nut-free facilities, non-gmo, and loaded with vitamins and nutrients any parent would want their little ones consuming on a daily basis. Some are gluten-free as well!

Now for the really, really exciting part! Bitsy has teamed up with Bitsy’s Brainfood to showcase Bitsy’s Brainfood’s new “Smart Crackers” and to offer you a scrumptious GIVEAWAY! Bitsy’s Brainfood is generously offering one lucky winner a Bitsy’s Brainfood prize pack loaded with all of their delicious treats. Cookies, cereal + crackers to snack on…yummy!!

As we mentioned above, Bitsy Style tried this Brainfood out on our toughest customer. Lucy had a blast in her pretzel skirt trying new foods, experimenting, playing + creating. Normally she is asking when the photo shoot will be over. This time, she was upset when we had to wrap it up!

Have a taste for yourself…

We couldn’t help but stick with the “food for thought” theme and dolled Lucy up in the Huxbaby Pretzel Skirt and a GoldnHearts (Etsy Shop) Organic (yup) Crop Top. Her headband/bow is Free Babes. The party accessories (minus the striped paper containers) are all from Meri Meri’s new Liberty Paper Goods Collection!

back to basics

FINAL BLOG Back to Basics

We. Can’t. Get. Enough.

It is that simple. And’s concept is that simple as well. Check it out…

As a parent you are going to say ‘PHEW!’. You may even do a little dance. Heck, you may even want to throw in a “WHOOP WHOOP!”. is a company that offers “awesome basics for kids at reasonable prices”. True story. Their clothing is made out of soft, but sturdy fabrics. The colors they offer are simple, yet playful (so they can be paired with anything while also adding a pop of fizz to a look). Quality, simplicity and price are part of their core value proposition. The company was resurrected from 2 moms (Galyn + Christina) with a .com background wanting simple, soft and well-priced kids clothing without graphics and logos all over them (hallelujah!). They state on their site that “in our mother’s day if you couldn’t find what you were looking for, you made it yourself. So, that’s what we did”. Now this is a statement BITSY applauds! Beautifully uncomplicated as they put it – yes, that is how us parents like it. Well done!!

We scooped up a few pieces to test them out and style them (BITSY style – photograph above). Needless to say, we have been very happy with each item. The cotton is super soft and washes perfectly. The stitching is great and the fit is spot on. As we styled (so much fun – the possibilities were endless!) and wore these pieces we couldn’t help but think to keep in mind for other purposes as well – think basics for making personalized tees for sports teams, party favors, art projects etc. And, we are definitely going to be hitting this up for back-to-school wear! The prices are so great, you can grab a few of each piece to stock up!

As you can see, they are very thoughtful over at And just when we didn’t think it could get any better it just did. They’ve offered BITSY readers a 25% discount + free shipping off your first purchase as a thank you. Be sure to type in promotional code BITSYSTYLE at checkout.

Welcome to your new “go-to” – PRIMARY.COM.

(They just introduced a new piece – The Baby Romper – so you’ll have to check that out for us!)

sealed with a kiss…and a bow, of course

Let’s be honest – accessories say it all. They seal the deal. They make things official.

Bitsy is crazy for bows – and do we have the bows for you! These bows will have you rocking around your Christmas tree…
